Solemn Opening of the Doctoral Program in Experimental Biology and Biomedicine (PDBEB) 2022/2023

06/10/2022

Tomorrow, October 7th, the Solemn Opening of the Doctoral Program in Experimental Biology and Biomedicine (PDBEB) from the University of Coimbra (UC) takes place. The session starts at 9:30 am in the Student Hub Auditorium, on the ground floor of the UC Faculty of Medicine building.

The Solemn Opening is essentially aimed at new PDBEB students and aims to share information on the structure of the doctoral program, on the expectations of a PhD and on the advanced courses that PDBEB offers, which are open not only to PDBEB students but also to other elements, inside and outside the UC.

PDBEB's advanced courses cover topics such as science communication, technology transfer, computational biology, neuroscience, drug development, medical use of cannabis, metabolism and proteomics applied to the life sciences. In this edition of the PDBEB, 10 advanced courses and symposia will be available from October 2022 to April 2023.

During the Solemn Opening, there will also be space for an intervention by the UC medical services and for a seminar given by Researcher Giovanni Mann from King’s College London, UK, member of the External Advisory Committee of the PDBEB. The program also has a testimony from a former PDBEB student.

The PDBEB has been scientifically coordinated by the Center for Neuroscience and Cell Biology of the University of Coimbra (CNC-UC) since 2002 and is associated with the Interdisciplinary Research Institute of the University of Coimbra (IIIUC).
