Luís Grilo estuda o impacto da dieta materna durante a gravidez na saúde da descendência, nomeadamente no seu envelhecimento e predisposição para o desenvolvimento de doença. O seu foco de investigação é a programação da função cardíaca e hepática durante o desenvolvimento fetal e a comunicação entre estes dois órgãos.
