Rebeca V. Silva has a degree in Biology (Bachelor's degree) from the Federal University of Pernambuco. She was a student grantee from CNPq with the project "Floral Survey of Pteridophytes of Mata do Jaguarão, at Usina Cucaú" (Municipality of Rio Formoso - Pernambuco - Brazil), mentored by professor Iva Carneiro Leão Barros (Botany department - Pteridophytes, at UFPE), in the area of Plant Ecology.
Currently, she is doing her Masters in Microbiology and Microbial Biotechnology at the University of Coimbra (DCV-UC) and she is part of the Medical Microbiology group, CNC-UC, under the guidance of Professor Teresa Gonçalves. She is currently participating in a study focusing on optimizing protocols for air purification systems to be used in the prevention of infectious diseases transmitted especially in healthcare facilities.
Outside the scope of biology, she also completed, in 2023, a postgraduate degree in English-Portuguese Translation from Universidade Estácio de Sá (UNESA), with a specialization in technical and literary translation.
