CNC has 12 scientists in the top 2% of the most influential in the world. The data are from a study by Stanford University (USA) and the Elsevier editorial group. The document published in 2021, named “World’s Top 2% Scientists 2021”, includes around 180,000 researchers, of which 703 are Portuguese.
This annual list aims to create a public repository on the impact of researchers on the progress of scientific knowledge and their influence on combating abuses of self-citation. Thus, it presents the best researchers in the world according to factors such as their index, the volume of publications and the citations of their works.

The CNC researchers on this list are:

Alexandra Carvalho
Anabela P. Rolo
Carlos Palmeira
João Ramalho-Santos
John Jones
Lino Ferreira
Maria C. Pedroso de Lima
Paula I. Moreira
Paulo J. Oliveira
Rodrigo Cunha
Sandra M. Cardoso
Sérgio Simões

It is with great pride that CNC congratulates its researchers on this honorable distinction.
