We are pleased to announce the 1st Green Labs Portugal Symposium: Promoting Sustainability in Research, which will take place at the University of Coimbra on the 22nd of September of 2023.

 The symposium will be hosted by the greenLabsCIBB with the support of CIBB and UC.

Sessions and activities will take place at Student Hub´s Hall, Auditorium 2, “Sala Movimento Estudantil” and Botanic Garden of UC.

The event will have the presence of the following guests:

Madalena Vieira | Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia;

Luís Pereira de Almeida | Coordenador do CIBB;

Patrícia Pereira da Silva | Pró-Reitora para o Planeamento e Sustentabilidade;

João Ramalho-Santos | Vice-Reitor para a Investigação

The event will focus on the different aspects of what Green Labs are, the steps towards certification, sustainability in science, and how companies are reinventing themselves to provide services and help promote research laboratories with a smaller ecological footprint.

The objective is to promote reflection on how to mitigate the environmental impact of scientific research without compromising the vital role of science and innovation in the progress of our society.

The future of more sustainable science is now, and we want to be part of it!
