Two researchers from the Center for Neuroscience and Cell Biology of the University of Coimbra (CNC-UC) were recognized for their outstanding work at the 2025 National Meeting on Extracellular Vesicles (PNEV), held in Faro on June 26–27.
Kevin Leandro, PhD student at the Gene and Stem Cell Therapies for the Brain group, earned 1st place for Best Oral Presentation, a prestigious award that highlights both the scientific quality and clarity of his research communication. His work impressed the panel with its rigor and relevance to the advancing field of extracellular vesicle (EV) science.
Meanwhile, Bárbara Vicente Santos, PhD student at the Sleep and biological rhythms in ageing and age-related diseases group, captured attention through a different lens, winning the Best Artistic Image in the "Inside EV – An Art Showcase" competition. Her creative and visually compelling representation of EV science stood out for its unique blend of scientific insight and artistic expression.
These awards reflect the dynamic and multidisciplinary excellence fostered at CNC-UC. Congratulations to Kevin and Bárbara for their remarkable achievements and contributions to the EV research community.
