Professors and researchers from the University of Coimbra and CNC-UC, Euclides Pires and Carlos Faro, were honored by Cantanhede Municiplity for their work in the municipality over the last few years.
Helena Teodósio, the mayor, singled out Euclides Pires for his "invaluable contribution to the development and consolidation of Biocant Park as a leading science and technology ecosystem", highlighting the important positions he has held, as director of the Molecular Biotechnology Unit and director of Biocant - Technology Transfer Association, where he currently chairs the General Assembly.
Carlos Faro "played a crucial role in the conception and strategic definition of Biocant Park, of which he was the first CEO, as well as having had a decisive influence on the creation of UC-Biotech and several promising start-ups in the Life Sciences area", according to the mayor.
