The University of Coimbra, through the Institute of Interdisciplinary Research, is promoting the Promotion of Scientific Culture initiative. The 4th edition 2024 provides financial support for Science Communication activities of an interdisciplinary scientific and cultural nature that disseminate the knowledge generated at the University of Coimbra to diverse audiences.

In 2024, the "Promotion of Scientific Culture" initiative financially supported 10 projects that promote dialogue between science and culture and disseminate the knowledge produced at the UC to audiences that are not strictly academic/scientific.

Four of the funded projects are coordinated by CNC-UC / CiBB:

Talk-Show: Stem Cells Rock! (coordinated by Ricardo Pires das Neves)

Mythabolism: a boardgame to demystify metabolism (coordination: Sara Cabral Martins)

Focus on Science: Attention, Attention, Attention! (coordination: João Peça)

A Good Sleep Under the Stars: An animated series (coordination: Bárbara Santos)

CNC-UC / CiBB is also collaborating on two other funded projects:

PhDBuddies Podcast (coordination: Daniela Costa)

Empathic Spaces. Immersive VR architectural installation for mental health awareness (coordination: Pedro Martins Carvalho)
