Community of the UC Centre for Innovative Biomedicine and Biotechnology meets for a day of scientific sharing
The University of Coimbra's Centre for Innovative Biomedicine and Biotechnology (CiBB), a research and development unit that brings together the Center for Neuroscience and Cell Biology (CNC-UC), the Coimbra Institute for Clinical and Biomedical Research (iCBR-FMUC), the Multidisciplinary Institute of Aging (MIA Portugal) and GeneT (Center of Excellence in Gene Therapy in Portugal), is holding its annual meeting on Friday 20th. The event takes place at the Teatro Municipal da Lousã.
The initiative brings together more than 350 members of the community, showcasing the research carried out at the CiBB. The program includes several presentations of research projects taking place at the center and a science fair with the aim of informally communicating CiBB research topics. There will also be sessions with guests such as Miguel Sena-Esteves (UMass Chan Medical School) and Manuel Heitor (European Commission) and a round table on the challenges and opportunities of using Artificial Intelligence in various areas, moderated by Carlos Fiolhais (University of Coimbra) and with the participation of João Pedro Barreto (ISR-UC & DEEC-UC), Ricardo Kalash (Teatro da Cerca de São Bernanrdo), Carolina Cabaços (FMUC & Projeto Desmente) and Teresa Firmino (Jornal Público).
The meeting has the support of several organizations - Lousã City Council / Lousã Municipal Theatre, Alfagene, Bionova, Chaperone, Enzifarma, Fisher Scientific , Izasa Scientific , NZYtech, PhD Health Sciences (FMUC), Quimigen / ClinicSciences, Type Solution and Zeiss.
