On Thursday, 11 December, the GeneT team won one of the Acelera@UC 2025 Proof of Concept awards at Colégio da Trindade.

Sara Lopes, Miguel Lopes, Rui Nobre, and Luís Pereira de Almeida represent the SilenSCAs project - Precision Therapies for Spinocerebellar Ataxias that Inactivate the Mutant Gene, and won €5,000 to continue developing this idea, as part of the Proof of Concept by INOVC+ competition.

This was one of the 23 winning projects in the Acelera@UC 2025 Proof of Concept competition. The main objective of this competition is to promote the technological maturity of inventions by UC teachers, researchers and students.
