Júlio Torres is a PhD Student (Experimental Biology and Biomedicine - University of Coimbra) at Body Barrier Immunometabolism Research Group under the supervision of Doctor Manuela Ferreira at Center for Neuroscience and Cell Biology(CNC) and Center for Innovation in Biomedicine and Biotechnology (CIBB) where he is studying the relationship between unconventional intraepithelial lymphocytes metabolism and function and the dietary micronutrients at early-life. Júlio Torres also has a BSc degree in Biochemistry by the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro in (2020) where he completed a 1 year internship in the Laboratory of Histology and Pathological Anatomy under the supervision of Professor Maria dos Anjos Clemente Pires. Additionally, he completed his master's in Cellular and Molecular Biology at the University of Coimbra (2022), and developed his dissertation at Body Barrier Immunometabolism Research Group under the supervision of Doctor Manuela Ferreira at Center for Neuroscience and Cell Biology and Center for Innovation in Biomedicine and Biotechnology. At the end of his master's, Júlio was awarded a Master's Research Fellowship under the scope of La Caixa funding (HR22-00754) at Manuela Ferreira’s Lab.
