The University of Coimbra is celebrating World Food Day with a series of talks entitled “Nutrition and health for a healthier life”. From October 14 to 18, there will be ten talks on relevant topics regarding food, sustainability and health. These will take place online every day between 6pm and 7pm.
The initiative is organized by the Centre for Neuroscience and Cell Biology of the University of Coimbra (CNC-UC) and the Coimbra Institute for Clinical and Biomedical Research of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Coimbra (iCBR-FMUC), in collaboration with the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto, the Center for Research and Development in Agrifood Systems and Sustainability (CISAS), the School of Technology and Management of the Polytechnic Institute of Viana do Castelo (IPVC) and the Egas Moniz School of Health & Science.
World Food Day was established by the United Nations to celebrate the creation of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, with the main objective of promoting universal access to quality food for a healthy and active life. The “Right to food for a better life and a better future” is the theme of this year’s World Food Day, which will take place on October 16, 2024.
