The European Researchers' Night (ERN) is an initiative promoted by the European Union that aims to unite education and entertainment by creating multiple spaces for meeting and engaging scientists and society. This is a large-scale event that takes place every year on the last Friday of September in several European cities.
In Coimbra, ERN is coordinated by the Science Museum of the University of Coimbra, in a project that involves many research centers from the University of Coimbra and the Science Centers Exploratório and Rómulo. CNC, partner of this project uninterruptedly since 2009, promotes hands-on activities, short conversations with scientists, exhibitions and artistic performances.
This event was launched in 2005 and is funded under the scope of Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions.
